Who We Are
Background Community Green Mindsets(CGM) was born from the lived experience of seeing environmental degradation and climate change in short twenty years. Sauset is a small village in Muhoroni sub-county of Kisumu county. Back in the 1980s to late 1990s, there was good forest cover, beautiful ambience and climate. Over the years, the areas that were once green have gradually become bare, and the rainfall pattern has become erratic. This change prompted the founders of Community Green Mindset(CGM) to see the change that they saw in their very lifetime, and they felt that it was time to take action. If action had been taken earlier, there would be a greater difference. Many parts of the Republic of Kenya share the same story with Sauset. This inspired the desire to take practical, sustainable strategies like seeking environmental investment in the county and the national budgeting process.
